About Andrew Purdum

I’ve been buying traffic since 2014, straight out of high school. Somewhere north of $10 million in managed ad spend since then, most of it other people’s money, which is a very effective way to learn what actually matters.

Why this site exists

Most marketing content is someone describing a result they never personally produced. It reads fine. It just doesn’t survive contact with a real ad account on a Tuesday when the CPA has doubled and nobody can tell you why.

So this is the other thing. Every article here comes out of work that actually ran, with the numbers left in. When something failed, I say it failed (there’s a lot of that, honestly).

Anyways. The bet I’m making is that specificity is worth more to you than polish.

What I actually believe

Complexity kills and simplicity scales. Almost every account I’ve been handed was losing money because it was too complicated, not because it was too simple.

Creative does the targeting and copy closes the sale. Your image is doing more audience selection than your interest stack ever will.

A better offer beats better ads every single time. If the offer is wrong, no amount of media buying rescues it, and I’ve watched people spend a lot of money proving that.

And you’re usually not stuck. You’re usually solving the wrong problem.

The boring details

I live in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania with my wife Megan. I do my actual thinking on twenty-minute walks, not in front of a screen. Weekends tend to involve board games and estate sales, which tells you roughly everything about my personality.

I’ve built 3X ROAS campaigns from scratch, become the number one affiliate on a major offer using nothing but organic Facebook, and written off cold email entirely before it turned into a top profit driver (do you see a parallel there? I’ll let you decide).

How to read this site

Every article answers its own title question in the first paragraph. If that’s all you needed, take it and go. The rest is the working, which matters when you need to adapt the idea to a situation I didn’t anticipate.

You won’t find bullet-point listicles here. That’s deliberate. Ideas worth having are worth writing in sentences.

Work with Andrew

Most accounts don't need more traffic. They need someone to find the leak.

If you're spending real money on ads and can't tell which part is failing — the creative, the offer, or the page — that's a diagnosable problem, and it's the one I'm best at.
