Work with me
I take on a small number of accounts at a time, and I’m useful in a specific way: finding the thing that’s actually broken before anyone spends another dollar covering for it.
What I’m good at
Most people arrive with the same sentence. Something used to work, it stopped, and nobody can say why. The ad account gets blamed because it’s the thing with the numbers on it.
Usually it isn’t the ad account. It’s an offer aimed at the wrong moment in someone’s life, or a page that breaks the promise the ad made, or a checkout doing quiet damage nobody’s measured. The media buying was fine. It was faithfully delivering traffic to a problem.
Finding which of those it is, quickly, is the work.
How engagements usually go
It starts with a diagnostic. I go through the account, the offer, and the pages people actually land on, and I come back with what’s wrong ranked by how much it’s costing you. Not a list of everything — the two or three things that matter. That alone is often enough, and a decent number of people take it and run with it from there.
If you’d rather I stayed on, I do ongoing work: building and testing creative, restructuring accounts, rebuilding offers, and sitting in on the decisions that keep getting deferred. That works best when I’ve done the diagnostic first, because otherwise we’re both guessing on your money.
I don’t do retainers where I quietly manage a dashboard and send a report. If you want that, there are cheaper people and they’ll do a fine job.
Who this tends to work for
Businesses already spending meaningfully on paid traffic, where the difference between a 2x and a 3x is real money rather than a rounding error. If you’re spending a few hundred dollars a month, the honest answer is that you don’t have a media buying problem yet and hiring me would be a poor use of your budget. Read the site instead. It’s free and it’s the same thinking.
It also works for marketers and agency owners who are competent but stuck — you can run the ads fine, and the offer underneath keeps letting you down.
What I’ll want from you
Access to the real numbers, including the ones that are embarrassing. I can’t diagnose an account from a screenshot of the good week. And a willingness to hear that the problem isn’t where you thought it was, because most of the time it isn’t.
Anyways. If that sounds like the right kind of conversation, get in touch and tell me what’s actually happening. Specific beats polished — the spend, the offer, and what changed when it stopped working is more useful to me than a tidy summary.
Getting in touch
Email is best: andrew@andrewpurdum.com. Tell me what you’re selling, roughly what you’re spending, and what you think is wrong. If I’m not the right person I’ll say so and point you at whoever is.
